Lead IT Infra Engineer (Collaboration Technologies)

The Lead Collaboration Engineer is a technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining communication and collaboration systems that enable effective teamwork and knowledge sharing across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of collaboration technologies, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions align with business needs.  

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Implementation:
     

    • Lead the development and implementation of the collaboration technology roadmap, aligning with business goals and industry best practices.

    • Research, evaluate, and recommend new and emerging collaboration tools and technologies.

    • Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable collaboration solutions, including video conferencing, unified communications, instant messaging, and content sharing platforms.

    • Oversee the integration of collaboration tools with existing IT infrastructure and applications.

  • Technical Expertise & Support:
     

    • Provide expert technical support for collaboration systems, troubleshooting issues and resolving incidents escalated by junior team members.

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for collaboration systems, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and user manuals.

    • Monitor system performance and optimize for optimal user experience.

    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in the collaboration space.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:
     

    • Lead and mentor a team of collaboration engineers, providing guidance and support for their professional development.

    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and innovation.

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, HR, and business units, to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet their needs.

    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing clear and concise updates on project progress and technical issues.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
     

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a collaboration engineering role, with demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale collaboration solutions.
     

  • Technical Skills:
     

    • Deep understanding of collaboration technologies, including video conferencing ( Google-Meet, Microsoft Teams), unified communications (e.g., Microsoft Exchange, instant messaging (e.g., G-Chat, Slack, Microsoft Teams), and content sharing platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, SharePoint, OneDrive).

    • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

    • Experience with cloud-based collaboration solutions (e.g., Google Workspace,O365).

    • Familiarity with IT security best practices for collaboration systems.

  • Soft Skills:
     

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

    • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Self-motivated and results-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)).

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.

  • Experience in a large, geographically dispersed organization.
