Your mission:

Our development team is expanding, creating an opportunity for a skilled developer to play a key role in the ongoing enhancement of our own Linux operating system. If you are passionate about OS-level development, we encourage you to apply.

We are looking for a new Lead Systems Software Engineer (m/f/d) to work remote and in our hardware lab in Karlsruhe as soon as possible.

• You develop features and requirements together with our stakeholders.

• You design and implement new features and architectural improvements.

• You will contribute to effort estimations and project planning.

• You will work closely with our QA to ensure a well-tested product and high-quality standards.

• In collaboration with our support team, you will track down customer issues, analyze them and implement fixes.

• You will make suggestions for internal team improvements.

• You will provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior colleagues.

Your profile:

• You have successfully completed a degree in computer science, mathematics or physics and have several years of professional experience in system-related development.

• You have experience with C++ and other common build systems such as CMake.

• You have knowledge of common scripting languages such as Python and Bash.

• You have knowledge of or experience with Debian or Ubuntu-based Linux distributions.

• At best, you already have experience in interacting with open-source projects.

• Experience with embedded Linux environments is an advantage.

• You have very good English skills in word and text and your German skills are at least level B2.
