As a Lead Product Designer, you’ll work with Product and Engineering teams to ensure ShareFile’s customers can manage their content and collaborate with their clients efficiently from any device. You will also play a pivotal role in setting up design culture as we look to realize double digit growth on $200M+ revenue in a fast-growing market.

Role Overview

Now, let’s get to the details. This role will have ownership of end-to-end design delivery as a part of the product development process and will work closely with user researchers, product designers, and cross functional team members to deliver high quality design solutions with strategic intention. This includes:

  • Work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment 

    • Organize and lead large, complex projects with ease and confidence, including initial project planning, managing timelines, and communicating project status

    • Create wireframes, concepts, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs to effectively communicate design solutions across the entire release

    • Lead and/or partner with user research to validate assumptions and inform design decisions

  • Communicate design work within the user experience team and with cross-functional teams

    • Present designs in a clear, confident, and concise manner to diverse audiences, incorporating data, user insights, competitive analysis, concept designs, and business knowledge to rationalize and drive ideas for improvements or new features

    • Explain rationale for design decisions within a larger context

    • Frequently seek diverse feedback, receive and weigh with a growth mindset, and integrate as appropriate

  • Collaborate within the user experience team and with cross-functional teams

    • Collaborate closely with research and contribute to research strategy

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and others to ensure design solutions meet business and user needs

  • Provide solutions with strategic intention

    • Develop a deep understanding of business practices and rationale

    • Identify opportunities for research in your product area and work with user research and/or UX leadership to prioritize and plan

    • Seek opportunities to push our product experiences by introducing predictive and future-focused concepts that elevate what exists today

    • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues as they arise

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in user-centered design

    • Advocate for the role of research and design throughout the product development process

    • Effectively advocate for the user when working with partners across functional areas; Provide coaching and mentorship on how to apply design thinking and human-centered design principles

    • Offer guidance and mentorship to more junior designers

    • Stay up-to-date with design trends and best practices and incorporates new techniques into work

Your Superhero Uniform Includes

  • 8+ years of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, including experience in:

    • User-centered design methods and techniques (e.g., user research and testing, data analysis, customer journey maps, etc.)

    • Designing for software applications for multiple platforms (e.g., web, mobile, desktop)

    • Working and collaborating in Agile development environments using management and issue tracking software (e.g., Jira)

  • Bachelor's degree in visual design, interaction design, human factors, human-computer interaction, or equivalent professional experience

  • A solid portfolio showcasing product design experience and process

  • Proficiency in creating low- to high-fidelity wireframes, design concepts, and prototypes using industry tools such as Figma and Adobe CreativeCloud

  • Strong understanding of design thinking, user-centered design, problem solving, and design systems

  • Passion for design, users, and collaboration with designers and cross-functional team members

  • Working knowledge of web technologies and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React); experience with front-end coding a plus
