Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the quality of software releases: Responsible for ensuring that software releases meet quality standards and are free of defects.
Design, develop, maintain and optimize automated testing frameworks and scripts: This includes creating, running and maintaining automated testing scripts, tools, frameworks, CI/CD integration across releases to ensure that software releases are of high quality and the test automation process is efficient, effective, and scalable.
Develop and implement software testing strategies and plans: This includes defining, executing and reviewing testing goals, test plans, test cases, creating test schedules, bug reporting, triaging and verification, and selecting appropriate testing tools and methods.
Collaborate with the Engineering and product management teams: Work closely in defining, refining and reviewing requirements/user stories and to ensure that testing and development teams are integrated and aligned. Working independently with developer, release and DevOps teams to resolve any outstanding issues and help release high quality software.
Report on testing progress: This involves providing regular updates on automated/manual testing progress and results, as well as identifying and communicating any potential risks or issues.
Manage test lab environments: This involves keeping a list of all test environments and associated tools to ensure the environments are up to date with required tools and any changes in environments are well documented.
Develop Subject matter expertise for different components of the platform.
Mentor other team members and provide them training and support.
Required Experience/Skills
Minimum of eight years of experience in a quality assurance or test engineering role.
Demonstrated proficiency in designing and implementing automation test frameworks and scripts from scratch.
Practical experience in coding using at least one programming language, such as Java, C#, TestNG, JUnit, Ant, or Maven.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as Python, JavaScript, or Shell.
Strong experience in analyzing requirements, developing comprehensive test plans and test cases, and proficiently identifying and documenting software defects.
Hands-on experience in testing Soap and Rest web service APIs.
Experience working with databases, data processing, and analytical tools and familiarity with SQL language.
Strong aptitude for learning, excellent oral and written communication skills, and outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to collaborate effectively within teams and across teams, adapt to different situations, and successfully achieve assigned goals and targets.
In-depth understanding of software development life cycle, testing methodologies, processes, and quality control.
Proficiency in both Windows and Linux platforms.
Experience with Cloud Native platforms and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Nice-to-Haves
Familiarity or experience with client tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
Familiarity or experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab.
Familiarity or experience with Test Management tools such as TestLink and TestRail.
Familiarity or experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence Wiki.
Familiarity or experience with performance and stress testing, including the use of performance test tools like JMeter and LoadRunner.
Education
A minimum of Engineering Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
