Product Overview

The Tibco Control Plane brings together TIBCO capabilities in a unified experience on any cloud platform, hyper-v, or bare metal infrastructure. It allows customers to manage and monitor TIBCO applications and services on private cloud or on-premises enabling customers to use TIBCO in a hybrid manner.

Role Overview

As a Lead QA Engineer you will be responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive quality strategy that includes both manual and automated testing for our cloud-based applications. You will lead the testing efforts, come up with detailed test plans that focus on customer centric use cases. You will act as a hands-on leader, working closely with developers, QA engineers, and Product Managers to ensure high-quality product releases. This role requires a deep understanding of UI and API testing, strong automation expertise, and hands-on experience with cloud technologies like AWS and Azure and Kubernetes. As a key leader, you will be a technical expert, a problem solver with a can-do attitude, and a mentor to junior team members, driving quality best practices across the team. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential.  You will take on a critical technical role in the creation of several crucial components that make up our signature offering. Your expertise and dedication will be integral to the success of our product.


 

Responsibilities


 

Quality Strategy & Planning

Design and own the end-to-end quality strategy, focusing on complex test scenarios that simulate real-world customer journeys.

Lead technical discussions with Development and Product teams to define test scope, schedules, identify risks, and ensure comprehensive coverage.

Analyze customer feedback and support tickets to continuously refine test plans and prioritize testing efforts on critical workflows.

Hands-on Testing & Automation

Perform hands-on exploratory, functional, and regression testing to identify and document defects effectively.

Design, implement, and maintain a robust, scalable test automation framework for both UI (e.g., Cypress, Playwright) and APIs (e.g., REST Assured, Postman).

Drive the integration of automated tests into our CI/CD pipeline (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity) to improve release efficiency and reliability.

Evaluate and champion new tools and technologies, including AI-driven solutions, to continuously improve our testing processes.

Leadership & Mentorship

Mentor and guide QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Lead by example in technical problem-solving and act as the subject matter expert for all things related to quality assurance.

Communicate test results, quality metrics, and release readiness clearly to stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years in Quality Assurance, with a proven track record of leading QA efforts for complex, enterprise-grade software.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Cloud & Containerization: Deep, hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration using Kubernetes (K8s).

  • API Automation: Strong proficiency in API testing and automation using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar frameworks.

  • UI Automation: Significant experience building and maintaining UI automation frameworks with modern tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

  • Programming: Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or Java for writing automation scripts and frameworks.

  • CI/CD: Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, or GitLab CI.

  • Experience testing microservices architectures.

  • Familiarity with at least one relational database (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server).

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment

  • Problem-solving mindset & good debugging skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Elasticsearch, or Kibana.

  • Understanding of security best practices within cloud and automation contexts.

  • Exposure to AI-driven testing tools and frameworks.
