As a Lead Software Engineer at ShareFile  you will be an integral part the engineering team.  You should be a subject matter expert that would work in the product cross-functional feature teams. This role works under minimal supervision and is responsible for providing coaching, guidance, and training to others in job area. This is a highly critical space that is pivotal for the business to safely accelerate our engineering and product innovation and delivery to our customers.

Role Overview: Now, let’s get to the details. This role will be part of a wider Solutions Platform team responsible for enabling customers to customize their ShareFile experience. You'll get a seat at the table as we design our solutions to enable our wider engineering and product organization, making sure we build highly scalable products. We want you to be an expert and own the architecture and delivery quality software.

Strategy

  • Drive feature development with focus on technical direction, quality, usability & performance leveraging data for making decisions.

  • Participate in live-site operations with emphasis on timely response, delivery & satisfaction for stakeholders.

  • Collaborate across internal & external stakeholders providing leadership and mentoring.

  • Play a significant architect role in shaping our software architecture across our Solution Platform. Scale the storage and services to meet the emerging enterprise needs.

  • Ensure availability and latency needs addressed by engineering reliability in software and systems.

  • Focus on operability of the service including security, privacy, resiliency, Business Continuity & disaster recovery.

  • Understand both technology and business to know the right trade-offs to make.

  • Drive engineering and operational excellence across goals.

  • Research and stay up-to-date with the coding best practices, tools, and technologies.

Execution:

  • Incremental DeliveryContinuously deliver value to our customers through frequent releases of meaningful improvements to our systems.

  • Mentor and guide junior members of the engineering team, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.

  • Maintaining consistency of user experience and design patterns for features developed across multiple feature teams.

  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

  • Modernizing the application and keeping it up to date with new frameworks and versions.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional team to define, design, and ship new features.

  • Focus on improving code quality through best practices and stringent reviews.

  • Providing technical leadership to the team.

  • Work closely with product team and senior leadership to implement the best User Experience.

Your Superhero Uniform Includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Scient or equivalent field with 8+ years of demonstrated ability of developing SAAS applications.

  • Proficient in Python or GO.

  • Well versed in various frontend JS frameworks such as React, Node, Require.

  • Strong coding, Automation and debugging skills

  • Well versed in software engineering principles, frameworks, and technologies

  • Experience working on or more large public cloud platforms AWS.

  • Good understanding of developing applications that run-in containers e.g. Docker.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Strong communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams across different time zones and articulate security concepts.

Your Superhero Strengths Include:

  • Experience with IaC tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.

  • Knowhow of DevOps technologies and processes

  • Familiar with modern continuous integration pipeline tools such as Jenkins

  • Good knowledge of web security concepts and threat modelling
