We are looking for a Senior Software Developer/Architect to join the Spotfire Engineering Team. Someone who brings deep knowledge in algorithms, data science, ML, and AI—and who is ready to take on a technical leadership role. What We Need and Are Looking For:

We seek a Senior Software Developer/Architect who: 

• Demonstrates deep knowledge and practical experience in Data Science, ML, and AI.

• Has a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles, and applies these principles within established software development methodologies.

• Takes initiative in driving technical direction, owning the analysis and conceptual design of complex initiatives, contributes to architectural decisions, and helps guide the team toward best practices.

• Possesses hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable and robust data science solutions with a focus on performance and maintainability.

• Is proficient in programming languages relevant to data science, such as Python, and ideally has experience with C#.

• Shows curiosity and enjoys learning and exploring our product and its features while focusing on quality and improvement.

• Has an analytical and creative mind, capable of solving real-world problems using advanced software engineering techniques relevant to data science (e.g. predictive modeling, classification, clustering).

• Proactively seeks clarity, asks thoughtful questions, and values open dialogue.

• Embraces a collaborative environment, working closely with colleagues with different roles and responsibilities.

• Acts as a role model and mentor within the team, sharing knowledge and elevating the technical capabilities of others.

• Communicates technical concepts clearly and effectively.

• Embraces new technologies and is eager to continuously learn in an innovative environment.

About the Data Science Team:

The Data Science Team is a global team responsible for adding and maintaining advanced algorithms and Spotfire's visual data science features. Some of the algorithms are implemented in Python, while other parts of the product is written in C#/.NET. Our team includes women leaders and engineers who are shaping the future of our data science platform. 

Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer/Architect who has:

• Significant experience (typically 10 or more years) in software development, preferably within a product-based company with a strong focus on data science, ML, and/or AI.

• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

• Prior experience as a tech lead, architect, or similar senior engineering role is a strong plus.

• Since we value communication highly, you don’t have a problem expressing yourself in either Swedish or English, written and spoken.

• Ability and eagerness to learn new tools, products, and technologies.

• A Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Valid work permit for Sweden.
