About the team:
The Citrix Cloud Platform team is the engine behind our core business, responsible for building and managing the foundational services that power all Citrix Cloud offerings. The position is within the telemetry and reporting practice of the team. The core focus is to identify telemetry needs across the tools - collaborate with the various components to instrument product telemetry - and complete the cycle by providing data driven insights to influence / power the business.
Defining Key Metrics:
Collaborating with product managers, and leadership to identify the most important telemetry data points to track based on business goals and product strategy. This includes feature usage, performance metrics, user flows, etc.
Translating business questions into measurable telemetry metrics.
Data Extraction and Preparation:
Working with telemetry teams to extract relevant data from the databases.
Cleaning, transforming, and aggregating telemetry data to make it suitable for analysis and reporting.
Designing and Developing Telemetry Reports and Dashboards:
Creating visualizations (charts, graphs, tables) that effectively communicate insights from the telemetry data.
Creating ad-hoc reports in Excel and other tools to extract data from databases like SQL.
Analyzing Telemetry Data:
Identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies in user behavior and product performance.
Investigating the root causes of issues or unexpected findings.
Providing context and interpretation of the data.
Generating Insights and Recommendations:
Translating data findings into actionable insights and recommendations for product improvements, feature prioritization, and bug fixes.
Communicating these insights effectively to relevant teams.
Education - Engineering degree, MBA or Master's Degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or business administration.
Experience in an enterprise software environment: Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
5+ years of experience in product management or related field. Exposure to data collection and interpretation techniques is a plus.
Data & Telemetry Knowledge: Must have an understanding of data ingestion, transformation, and modeling. This includes knowing how to design and manage a robust data pipeline to ensure data quality, reliability, and security.
You should also understand how to instrument products to collect meaningful telemetry data on user behavior and system performance.
Data Analysis & Querying: The ability to pull and analyze data yourself is crucial. You should be proficient in SQL to query databases and comfortable with data visualization tools like Power BI, or Looker.
Statistical Foundation: Must understand statistical concepts like correlation vs. causation, statistical significance, and how to design and interpret A/B tests. This is key for making data-informed decisions.
Technical Acumen: You should be able to "speak the language" of engineers. This includes understanding technical concepts like APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud platforms.
Ability to present to senior leadership and influence business outcomes.
