Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Test Engineer for our Spotfire Platform team. In this role, you will lead the efforts to understand and validate product functionality, ensure correctness, and implement test automation. You will be responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of test engineers, setting testing strategies, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Spotfire is a visual data science platform combining visualizations and data science. Our product addresses complex problems that the human mind or computers can't solve alone. Users pose their questions; twist and refine to figure out the best path forward. Spotfire allows the user to deeply engage with the data in blending data wrangling and analytic workflows. Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the product architecture and get familiar with the use cases of how the product is used by customers.

  • Strive for finding defects and ensure quality.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.

  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and scenarios.

  • Understand and validate product functionality and correctness.

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts.

  • Drive continuous improvement in testing processes and methodologies.

  • Lead and mentor a team of software test engineers, providing guidance and support.

  • Ensure timely and effective communication of testing activities and findings to stakeholders.

  • Manage and prioritize testing activities to meet project deadlines and deliverables.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in software testing and automation.

  • Conduct performance and security testing to ensure the robustness of the product.

Qualifications: Experience/Skills

Must Have

  • Strong understanding of Java programming and core concepts Software Development and Testing

  • Extensive experience in test automation and software testing concepts.

  • Proven experience with Selenium, API testing, Jenkins, Docker, Linux OS, and Databases.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills. 

  • Intellectually curious and solution oriented.

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience with Cloud IaaS (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes.

  • Experience in leading test automation projects.

  • Knowledge of performance and security testing.

  • Experience with Data science and Python, R languages

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Formal qualifications

  • Minimum requirement: BE/BTech

  • More than 8 years experience in Software Test Automation

  • Interest in Spotfire and its business contexts

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
