Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sustain a scalable and robust JasperReport Server (JRS) to meet evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to comprehend and implement required modifications for the JasperReport Server.
  • Design and execute technical Business Intelligence (BI) solutions from conceptualization to deployment within an agile environment.
  • Ensure the overall quality, reliability, and performance of the reporting solution meet or exceed established standards.
  • Analyze, design, and implement RESTful services and APIs to enhance system functionality.
  • Investigate data issues, troubleshoot data anomalies, and resolve performance problems associated with queries.
  • Provide support for upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting of data processing systems.
  • Deliver guidance and constructive feedback to team members, fostering the enhancement of specific knowledge and skill areas.
  • Take on a role of technical leadership, offering support in the development and improvement of the reporting server.
  • Operate independently as a self-starter while also contributing effectively as an integral part of an agile team.
  • Actively engage in the evaluation of new technologies, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Over 9 years of hands-on software development experience, with a specialized focus on Java applications.
  • Extensive 5+ years of expertise in reporting and BI engineering or related roles (experience in this area will be a plus).
  • Over 5 years of practical experience in distributed systems programming using Java.
  • Advanced proficiency in JDBC connectors and a proven track record of utilizing them effectively.
  • Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write intricate SQL code to address complex data requirements.
  • Proficient in using Groovy to enhance software development processes.
  • Substantial experience using Spring and Hibernate frameworks.
  • Proven track record of working with and developing REST APIs.
  • Strong background in working with relational databases.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with version control system management using various Git workflows.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and inspire team members, cultivating a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Extensive experience conducting root cause analysis on internal and/or external data and processes to address specific business questions, troubleshoot, and support solutions.


 

Optional Experience/Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in development using containers and virtual machines, including Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Proficiency in DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Dagster or Apache Airflow.
  • Skillset in DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience as a Cloud Developer with expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
