Principal Global IT Infra Engineer ( Collaboration Technologies)

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Collaboration engineer mainly focussed Google Workspace to lead the strategy and execution of our Google Workspace environment. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for driving innovation, ensuring operational excellence, and maximizing the value of Google Workspace for our organization. You will possess a deep understanding of Google Workspace and related technologies, along with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex solutions in large enterprise environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Define the overall vision and strategy for Google Workspace within the organization, aligning it with business objectives and technology roadmaps.

    • Evaluate emerging Google Workspace technologies and features, recommending and implementing solutions to enhance collaboration, productivity, and security.

    • Lead the development and implementation of Google Workspace governance policies, security standards, and best practices.

    • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior management on Google Workspace related matters.

  • Architecture and Engineering:

    • Design and implement complex Google Workspace solutions, including large-scale migrations, integrations with third-party applications, and custom application development.

    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers on the team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

    • Oversee the performance, scalability, and security of the Google Workspace environment, ensuring high availability and optimal user experience.

    • Drive automation initiatives to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.

  • Security and Compliance:

    • Develop and enforce security policies and controls to protect sensitive data within Google Workspace, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.

    • Lead incident response efforts related to Google Workspace security events, minimizing downtime and data loss.

    • Stay abreast of security threats and vulnerabilities related to Google Workspace, proactively implementing mitigation strategies.

  • Innovation and Optimization:

    • Identify opportunities to leverage Google Workspace to drive business innovation and process improvement.

    • Research and evaluate new technologies and tools that can enhance the Google Workspace ecosystem.

    • Analyze usage patterns and trends to optimize Google Workspace performance and resource allocation.

    • Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools to improve user experience and productivity 

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 10+ years of experience in IT, with a strong focus on Google Workspace administration and engineering in large enterprise environments.

    • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex Google Workspace solutions, including migrations, integrations, and custom development.

    • Deep understanding of Google Workspace APIs, security best practices, and related technologies (e.g., identity management, access control).

    • Experience leading and mentoring technical teams.

  • Skills:

    • Expert-level knowledge of Google Workspace administration tools and services.

    • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Apps Script, Python, PowerShell).

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

    • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Certifications:

    • Google Workspace Certified Professional (or equivalent) is required.

    • Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect is a plus.

    • Other relevant industry certifications are highly desirable.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its integration with Google Workspace.

  • Experience with O365 Technologies 

  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.

  • Experience with ITIL framework and best practices.

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.

Compensation may vary depending on your location, qualifications including job-related education, training, experience, licensure, and certification, that could result at a level outside of these ranges. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus, and sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role as well as individual performance. NYC generally ranges; $165,550-$206,937 CA generally ranges; $172,748-$215,935 All other locations fall under our General State range; $143,957-$179,946 Benefits may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Cloud Software Group and the country where you work. U.S. based employees are typically offered access to healthcare, life insurance and disability benefits, 401(k) plan and company match, among others.
