As a Software Architect at EBX, you’ll be part of a fast-moving product and engineering team. Your role is to design software systems that are clean, modular, and built to last—while staying in the trenches. You won’t just write specs; you’ll write code, review pull requests, and pair with developers. We’re looking for someone who balances big-picture thinking with hands-on execution.
In this role, you will
Design and build scalable, maintainable software architecture across new and existing systems
Stay involved in implementation—writing code, building prototypes, and setting technical examples
Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate needs into clear, practical architecture
Establish best practices around code structure, service boundaries, API design, and data flow
Support cloud integration and infrastructure design (e.g., AWS or Azure), but as part of a broader software architecture strategy
Design with security as a core principle, ensuring systems are built to protect data, resist threats, and comply with best practices
Conduct technical reviews, help debug complex issues, and continuously improve the development process
Document architectural decisions and communicate them clearly to the team
You have 8–12 years of experience in software development and at least 5–8 years leading architectural decisions
You’re a builder—someone who codes daily and enjoys solving deep technical problems
You’re confident in designing systems and enjoy hands-on collaboration with engineers
You know how to balance ideal architecture with real-world constraints and shipping fast
You’ve a solid experience with Java technologies and frameworks
You’ve worked with react, typescript or javascript.
You understand good API design, data modeling, modular architecture, and clean and simple code principles
You’ve used cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and can design for cloud, but don’t need everything to be serverless or over-engineered
Solid understanding of database design (SQL) and data flow
Strong expertise in containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with data architecture, DevOps practices, and security-by-design principles
Excellent communication and leadership skills—able to articulate architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
You value simplicity, clarity, and working software over theoretical perfection
You’ve worked in agile teams or product-centric environments and are comfortable with iteration
You speak fluent French, this is not an option.
