Overview

Spotfire’s User Experience team is seeking a UX Designer to shape the future of our world-class product family for visual data science. Spotfire is a pioneer in interactive visual analytics, and was founded on HCI research. With Spotfire, we enable engineers and scientists to make data driven decisions, with an experience that feels like shaping the data with your own hands through direct manipulation of the visualizations. Our customers are data driven, and our product helps them turn data into insights to solve business critical problems. Visual Data Science is an exciting field that keeps evolving to include advanced analytics, machine learning, and more, and as an effect we are involved in designing the complete user journey for our customers.
As a UX Designer, you will be a key player in every aspect of the development process, from identifying customer needs and prototyping the next great concept to making sure all details are in place towards the end of the cycle. A great user experience is a key differentiator for Spotfire.
You will be part of a strong and mature UX team and collaborate tightly with other UX designers, design researchers, visual designers, developers, writers, testers and product managers. We’re a global team and this position is full-time and based in Göteborg. We care about what we should build and why, not just how it should look and behave.

Working at Spotfire in Gothenburg

You will be working in teams where colleagues with different competencies work closely together to solve challenging tasks. There are always engaged people with lots of commitment and energy around you. Our modern office is located in central Gothenburg with all the shops and restaurants in Linnéstaden just around the corner.
You will play an integral part in making Spotfire even better. Innovative ideas are the foundation for our success, and time is set aside for you to explore your own creative ideas. You will find a welcoming and casual work environment that supports collaboration and creativity to make success happen. Many of us choose to stay here for a long time.

What You'll Do

  • Drive the design process for the concepts and features you are working on. Be part of scope discussions, create necessary artifacts to communicate the design, discuss design ideas, iterate and test the current state of the implementation.
  • Contribute to forward looking vision work to create a shared understanding of where we are heading.
  • Lead the design work in an inclusive, transparent and collaborative manner. Collect feedback from the feature team and other stakeholders, e.g. UX team, product management, continuously throughout the design process.
  • When appropriate, verify the design. E.g. through usability testing.
  • Take part in user research activities.
  • Learn new things, for example methods, tools, techniques, and share your knowledge with your peers
  • Actively participate in UX team-wide initiatives, e.g. developing our design system and UX guidelines, workshops, and feedback sessions

Who You Are

  • Masters in Interaction design, HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, or equivalent.
  • An easy going personality with a can-do attitude
  • You want to develop and take initiative to get work reviewed
  • Pragmatic, team player with focus on getting the job done
  • Effective with modern tools for creating prototypes and mockups
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
